Parcel's neighborhood presence takes two main forms: small-scale package distribution centers and autonomous vehicles meant to carry packages on the last leg of their journey.

Ideation & Development

As a vehicle meant to share walkways with pedestrians, the Parcel delivery vehicle is designed to be a friendly presence in the neighborhood.  Concept sketches explored non-threatening visual styles, featuring clever ways to hide the complex electronics needed for the autonomous driving system.

Ideation & Development Round 2 - NEV Variant

The next Parcel vehicle made the leap from walkways to roads.  Larger than the earlier form, the NEV allows for more packages to be transported at a time.  Likewise, the next iteration of the distribution center increased from the size of 1-3 parking spaces to a good portion of empty parking lot.

Ideation & Development Round 3 - Distribution Centers

Distribution centers have always been part of Parcel’s plan to implement efficient last-mile delivery service. The scale and specifics have evolved over time, to the point that individual autonomous vehicles are now less important than the function & automation of package sorting centers.
